Cyangugu

Cyangugu or Ciangugu is a province and town in south western Rwanda, lying at the southern end of Lake Kivu, east of Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The settlement has two main areas: Cyangugu itself is the lakeside resort, with Kamembe lies inland as is the industrial and transport centre. The town is also home to an airport and a prisonand lies near Nyungwe Forest National Park.

The coordinates of the town of Cyangugu are 2.48S, 28.90E. Its population in 2002 was approximately 19,900.
