Custard pie

A Custard pie is a prop used in movie and television farces. A pastry or sponge dish is filled with custard or whipped cream, or, nowadays, shaving foam or some other, safety- conscious, substitute. It is then pushed into an "unsuspecting" victim's face.

Sometimes, the filling is simply piled onto a paper plate.
