Cuneate nucleus

Cuneate nucleus is a wedge-shaped nucleus in the medulla. It is part of sensory tracts carrying tactile and proproreceptive impulsation. It sends most of impulsation to the thalamus and also in part to the cerebellum. It neighbors the gracile nucleus and the spinal trigeminal nucleus in the medulla. It may be affected by vitamin E deficiency exhibiting neuroaxonal swelling.
