County of Empúries
The County of Empúries' was a Medieval county centered around the town of Empúries, and that bear enclosed the region of Peralada. The first know count was Ermenguer, probably a goth. In 817 was united to the county of Rosselló under Gaucelm, count of Rosselló. In 832 was donated to Berenguer of Tolouse that rule many of the catalan lands. After his death, 835, was asignated to Sunyer, son of the count Bello of Carcassonne, that started the Empuries dinasty, firstly as separate land united to the county of Roussillon, and then as single county.
