Coming of Age in Samoa

This book is based upon the youth in Samoa and lightly relates to youth in America. Her findings proved that youth in Samoa are tought to grow together and strengthen each others confidence, as a result their community is much more tightly knit and the individuals themselves are more emotionally secure. In contrast, American youth are tought to compete against one another leaving them isolated within their own cliques.
