Cold snap is used in two ways to describe climate:
- A cold snap is a geological term for a period of intensely cold and dry weather, often occurring during an Ice Age.
- A cold snap may also refer to an unseasonally cold period in spring. This may also be called a blackberry winter as it may coincide with the time when the blackberries ripen. A cold snap in spring may also called a dogwood winter.
