Co-Sysop
A Co-SysOp was often a user who was granted specific admin level access on a BBS. Generally, a Co-Syop helped a Sysop validate the callers, monitored message forums and performed a variety of other administrator level tasks which the Sysop felt someone else trusted could safely handle on a BBS. (Such as maintaining the Door Games, or File Areas.) Thereby freeing up some of the Sysop's time to handle more critical tasks, such as re-writing or tweaking the BBS source code (as was the case in WWIV systems), or setting up/troubleshooting their system as a mail network node. (Such as FidoNet.)
