Cluj (Hungarian: Kolozs; German: Klausenburg) is a Romanian county (Judeţ) in the Transylvania region, with the capital city at Cluj-Napoca (population: 333,607). Its common abbreviation is CJ.

In 2000, it had a population of 724,605 and the population density was 109/km². According to the latest national census (2002), the major ethnic groups in the county are: Romanians (79.4%), Hungarians (17.4%) and Gypsies (2.8%).
