Clear plastic fetishism is a desire to wear clothing made out of soft clear plastic. Clothing such as clear plastic raincoats, clear plastic rain capes, clear plastic rain suits and clear plastic unbrellas are very popular for those who have a fetish in clear plastic. Less popular are clear plastic skirts, dresses, and rain hats, or what are often called bonnets.
There has been discussion on why people have a fetish in clear plastic. A common theme that has emerged from suggestions is that those who are into clear plastic have an extreme desire for protection. Being inside something that they can see out of, yet be protected at the same time, is a sexual desire for some people.
There is a possibility with some people that they have been born while still inside the unbilical sack (where the sack fails to break as they emerge from the womb).
Another possible path to this fetish is being put under an oxygen tent shortly after birth.
Some people find it erotic to wear very colorful or unique clothing under a crystal clear vinyl raincoat. It is a sense of letting beauty shine through while being protected.
Some people also love the feel of soft clear vinyl. There are people who sleep in large soft clear vinyl sleeping bags all night. They sleep inside these sacks with only a small hole open for breathing.
This is a harmless fetish as long as someone does not attempt to force it upon another person. There may be the danger of suffocation, especially with articles made out of very thin clear plastic. Most clear vinyl garments such as rainwear, however, are made of thick vinyl and this danger is very minimal.
