City services

City services refers to basic services residents of a city expect the city government to provide in exchange for the taxes citizens pay. Basic city services include sanitation, both sewer and refuse, water, streets, schools, food inspection and other health department issues, and transportation. Often city governments operate or contract for additional utilities like electricity, gas and cable television.
