Career Overview

Chris first came to prominance in WCCW in Texas, working for Fritz Von Erich. He was teamed with Gino Hernandez as a heel team known as "The Dynamic Duo". Hernandez turned on Adams and "blinded" him. Adams would come to the ring with a cane and feel his way through his matches for quite some time, but it helped him become a face. He also had a major feud that lasted over a year against Kevin Von Erich. Chris was the second WCCW Heavyweight Champion, defeated Rick Rude for the title.

Chris was married to Jeannie Clark from the late 1980's to 1990. Jeannie was also married to Steve Austin shortly after their divorce. Chris was also married to Toni Adams from 1991 to 1994. He was a judo practicioner and did a year in prison for assault starting in late 1990. He had drug and alcohol problems that plagued him his entire career. He had two DUI's in the 1990's that he got put on probation for.

Chris appeared in WCW in the mid to late 1990s as a jobber, but did win a few matches against David Taylor. He never achieved the success that he did in Texas. He was retired by the time he was accidentally shot and killed by a friend while they were both intoxicated.

  • Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) ranked him # 160 of the 500 best singles wrestlers of the "PWI Years" in 2003. He was also ranked # 65 of the best tag teams of the "PWI Years" with Gino Hernandez.
