Cheshire Lines Committee

The Cheshire Lines Committee (CLC) was the second largest joint railway in Great Britain.

The line was joint between the Midland Railway (MR) and the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway (MSLR) (later renamed to the Great Central Railway (GCR)). In 1923 these were grouped into the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) and the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) respectively. On nationalisation in 1948, both parent companies became part of British Railways.

Despite its name 143 route miles were in Lancashire.
