Chemist

A chemist is a scientist who specializes in chemistry. The word derives from the older term alchemist.

'Chemist' is a relatively wide term in the Scientific world, as Chemists may specialise in different sub-fields of Chemistry, thus being re-named accordingly; for example, Organic Chemist, Inorganic Chemist, Analytical Chemist, Theoretical Chemist, Macromolecular Chemist, Electro Chemist, Biochemist and Geochemist, to name but a few.

Also, in British English, the term is used for a pharmacist or a pharmacist's shop.
