Cerebro

Cerebro is a mutant-detecting mechanism that the X-Men leader Professer Charles Xavier uses to detect mutants who are using their powers. Because it is quite powerful, only Xavier can use it. However, prior to her "death" in mid-2004, Jean Grey a.k.a Phoenix was able to use the machine. Throughout time, it has evolved to detect both mutants and humans as seen in the 2003 movie X2: X-Men United, with red dots denoting mutants and white dots denoting humans. Some mutants, such as Magneto, have learned to shield themselves from it.
