Canadian socialists have generally been involved in one of a number of Canadian political parties including various Labour and socialist parties in the early part of the twentieth century, the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation, the New Democratic Party of Canada and, on the radical left, the Communist Party of Canada, the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada, the Labour Progressive Party, the League for Socialist Action, and various Trotskyist groups among others.

This list includes some figures who have identified themselves as "social democrats" rather than socialists.
