Carlos Moyà

Carles Moyà Llompart, also known as Carlos Moyà and Carlos Moyá (born August 27, 1976), is a professional tennis player (1995-) from Spain.

Moyà was born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. He began playing tennis at the age of six.

In 1996, he entered the ATP top 20 for the first time. He finished 1997 as No. 1 Spaniard and in the top 10 for the first time and became the first Spaniard to reach the Australian Open final since Andrés Gimeno in 1969. In 1998, he won his first Grand Slam title by defeating Álex Corretja in the final of Roland Garros. In 1999, he became the first Spaniard to rank as no. 1 player in ATP rankings (since 1973). He held the top spot for two weeks.

He has donated his prize for Chennai 2005 to the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake victims.
