Cakes and Wine

Cakes and Wine: Also called Cakes and Ale, Cookies and Milk, Crackers and Juice, and the Simple Feast. A simple ritual meal shared with others and the Goddess and the God, near the completion of a magickal ritual. Traditionally served with crescent cakes and wine; however, nearly any sort of liquid and breadstuff may be used instead. The wine is passed around saying, “May you never thirst,” and the cake is passed around saying, “May you never hunger.” Whatever is left over is poured on the ground or buried for the Goddess and the God. Such ritual meals predate Christianity.
