Cairo American College
Cairo American College is considered by many to be the most prestigious and best established American School (K-12 grade) in Egypt. Most, if not all, its teachers are from the United States or Europe. It is also considered to have the best athletic facilities and infrastructure in Egypt, with its teams competing against schools in Europe and in the Middle East. The student body is diverse; with Americans, Egyptians, Europeans and other nationalities.
The school, spread over more than 10 acres (40,000 m²), consists of separate administrativ, elementary, middle, and high school buildings, along with separate structures for the gymnasia and theater facilities. Cairo American College has recently completed a one million dollar renovation to its theater, transforming it into a comfortable, state-of-the-art facility. At the end of the 2004–2005 academic year, the school plans a renovation of its high school, in which new furniture will be ordered for every classroom and a new ventilation system will be installed. Further additions will include new signage around the campus.
The school is in the Digla neighbourhood of Maadi.
