Burlington International Airport

Burlington International Airport (IATA:BTV, ICAO:KBTV) is one of two commercial airports in Vermont. It is not actually located in Burlington, Vermont's largest city. Instead, it is located in South Burlington, about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) east of downtown Burlington.

Since the airport serves Vermont's largest city, it is fitting that it is the busiest commercial airport in the state. The only other commercial airport in the state is in Rutland, about 70 miles to the south. Due to the relatively low passenger volume compared to major markets, the most popular plane for airlines to use in providing service are Canadair Regional Jets. Nevertheless, BTV has flights to many important airline hub cities in the East and Midwest including Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington.
