Bowness, Alberta
Bowness was a town in Alberta, Canada, which was annexed by the city of Calgary in 1964.
It is now a community district on the west side of Calgary.
Population: more than 12,000.
History
The area was first occupied as a ranch c.1896.
John Hextall was responsible for the plans that led to the development of the village, which later grew to a town before annexation.
