Bob Orton, Jr.

Robert Orton, Jr. aka "Cowboy" Bob Orton (born November 10, 1950), is a professional wrestling legend in North America. His son Randy is currently a major star for World Wrestling Entertainment. His father Bob Orton, Sr. was also a professional wrestler.

Profile

Career

Orton started wrestling in 1972 in the Florida and Georgia territories. He often teamed with his father, Bob Orton.

He made a name for himself in the early to mid-1980s in the National Wrestling Alliance. He formed a tag team with Don Kernodle and they won the Tag Team Titles.

In 1985, he joined the WWF, using a cast illegally to win his matches. He was often called "Ace" Orton by Roddy Piper, one of his regular partners there.

He formed a team in the WWF with Don Muraco and with Mr. Fuji as their manager. They won several matches but split up on bad terms.

Orton came back to the NWA briefly in 1990 before going back to the independents. He retired from wrestling in 1999.

On February 3, 2005, Bob Orton was announced as one of the inductees for the Class of 2005 into the WWE Hall of Fame along with Paul Orndorff, Iron Shiek, Nikolai Volkoff, Jimmy Hart, Hulk Hogan, and Roddy Piper. The induction ceremony took place on April 2, 2005 in the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, California.
