Blue Horde

The Blue Horde was one of the descendant states which formed around 1227 in the wake of the Mongol Empire's desintegration. Initially it covered Eastern part of the territory ruled by Jochi – West of Central Asia and South-Western Siberia. Its first khan was Batu, son of Jochi. The capital was Sarai. Another possible settlement was at or near contemporary Tyumen.

After a period of anarchy (1357 – 1380) the Blue Horde was annexed by the White Horde. The combined state became known as the Golden Horde.
