Blue Bayou Restaurant

The Blue Bayou is a New Orleans/Cajun-style restaurant located at Disneyland at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. It is known primarily for its unusual ambiance; specifically the restaurant creates an illusion that the diners are located in an outdoor restaurant at night time, even though guests are actually in a large, indoor structure. This effect is achieved through the use of a dark ceiling, special lighting, and sound and visual effects like the chirps of crickets and frogs and the glow of fireflies. The restaurant is very closely tied to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, in that the "river" that runs by the diners in the restaurant carries the attraction's boats as visitors begin their ride. Diners and riders are often in visual contact with each other and share the same ambiance created by the unusual building. The Blue Bayou is more expensive than most Disneyland park restaurants with entrees ranging from $15 to $25. Its signature dishes are gumbo, jambalaya, and Monte Cristo sandwiches.
