Beskidy Mountains
Beskidy Mountains (Beskid Mountains, Beskidy, Beskydy, Beskids) is a series of mountain ranges in the eastern Czech Republic, northwestern Slovakia, and southern Poland, along the border between Poland and the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Beskids may be seen as a continuation of Western Carpathian Mountains. Its highest peak is Babia Gora, 5,658 ft (1,725 m).
The Beskids are rich an forest and coal. In the past they were rich in iron ore.
