Belfast, New Zealand

Belfast is a suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand. It is in the north of the city, close to the banks of the Waimakariri River. It is well known for the freezing works and the Belfast New World supermarket. Like many New Zealand South Island small communities, Belfast suffers from small town mentallity. This in turn leads to a suspicion of foreigners who move to the area.
