Beacon Rock State Park
Beacon Rock State Park is located in the Columbia Gorge natural scenic area. Beacon rock is a natural monolith that once formed the basaltic core of a volcano, which has been eroded away by the river. This rock is only slightly smaller than Gibraltar. At the top is a view of the surrounding gorge, the river, nearby waterfalls, and rugged cliffs. The park is located in Skamania County, along the Oregon border.
