San Francisco Bay Seals

(Redirected from Bay Area Seals)

The San Francisco Bay Seals were a soccer club based in San Francisco, California, USA. The team started in 1993 as the San Francisco All-Blacks of the USISL. They became the Bay Seals in 1996 and moved up to the A-League in 1998. The club was renamed the Bay Area Seals in 2000, and folded after the season.

In 1997, the Bay Seals made an incredible run to the semifinals of the US Open Cup, where they lost to Major League Soccer's D.C. United. The following season, the 1998 MLS Supplemental Draft saw three Seal players in the first four selections: C.J. Brown, Tim Weaver, and Marquis White.
