Avars
There are two different people called Avars:
- Eurasian Avars were a nomadic people of Eurasia who established a state in the Danube River area of Europe in the early 6th century.
- Caucasian Avars a modern people of Caucasus, mainly of Dagestan, in which they are the predominant group. Imam Shamil, a political and religious leader, was a Caucasian Avar.
