AuroraNetics

AuroraNetics was a San Jose, California based fabless semiconductor vendor which specialized in making devices for a pre-standard version of IEEE 802.17 also known as Resiliant Packet Ring or RPR. RPR is a protocol for metro-area networking, typically implemented on SONET rings at either OC-48 (2.5 Gbit/s) or OC-192 (10 Gbit/s).

They were acquired by Cisco Systems on July 11, 2000 for $150M. At the time of the acquisition they had 52 employees. Their CEO was Nader Vasseghi.
