Aurel Joliat

Aurel Emile 'Little Giant' Joliat (August 29, 1901June 2, 1986) was a professional hockey player. A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Joliat played the position of Left Wing for teams in the National Hockey League (NHL). At 5'07'and 136lbs, Joliat played for the Aberdeen from 1916 to 1917, Ottawa New Edinburgh from 1917 to 1919, Iroquois Falls from 1919 to 1921, and the Montreal Canadiens from 1922 to 1938. Joliat was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a Player in 1947. He was the brother of hockey player Robert Rene Joliat. Joliat was also the recipient of the Hart Memorial Trophy for 1933 to 1934. Joliat died in Ottawa, Ontario, in June 1986 at the age of 84.

Joliat was buried in Notre Dame Cemetery in Ottawa, Ontario.
