Auray
Auray (An Alre in Breton) is a commune of France, in the Morbihan département. This ancient town with its picturesque medieval harbour of Saint-Goustan features an old stone bridge crossing the rivière d'Auray.
History
- The Battle of Auray took place there on September 29, 1364.
- Benjamin Franklin disembarked here at the beginning of the American Revolutionary War on his way to Paris.
