Entrance into Politics

Before her entrance into politics, she was the chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association. On the issue of aboding rights, when Hong Kong was returned to China in 1997, she held a firm stance on the interpretation by the People's Congress, therefore she began to be known in Hong Kong. On a re-election of a Hong Kong Legco seat in 2000, Eu decided to enter into politics, and was successful in gaining the Legco seat.

Article 23 Concern Group

In 2002, when the Hong Kong Government had intentions to legislating Article 23, Eu, with other Baristers from the Bar Association, including Alan Leong, Margaret Ng, Ronney Tong and others, formed the Article 23 Concern Group. Before the legislating documents went public, Eu put forward strong opinions and statements concerning the extremeness of Article 23. Her rationality and calmness in explaining her points about Article 23 not only increased the amount of Hong Kong residents participating Anti Article 23 activites, it eventually led to her popularity increasing significantly after the July 1st demonstrations.

Article 45 Concern Group

In 2004, Hong Kong residents started to grow concern on Articles 45 and 68 of the Basic Law, and had uncertainties of how the 2007 Chief Executive elections and the 4th Legco elections in 2008 would take place. Hence, Eu, with other Baristers including Margaret Ng and Ronney Tong, formed the Article 45 Concern Group, leading to democratic processes for both elections. Due to the large acceptance of a democratic process by the public, her middle-class, professional image was largely becoming popular. Furthermore, Eu, partnered Frontier Party's Cyd Ho, to form a voting pair in the Hong Kong Island Legislative Council Elections. The "Eu-Ho" pair obtained 73,844 votes, Eu obtained a seat, but her partner, Cyd Ho, lost to DAB (Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong, now known as the Hong Kong Progressive Alliance)'s Choy So-Yuk by a mere 815 votes.

Eu has been viewed by the Beijing media as one of the Hong Kong Legco's "Evil Women".
