Arthur French, 1st Baron de Freyne
Arthur French (1786-29 September 1856) was Member of Parliament for Roscommon (1821-1832).
Born as the eldest son of Arthur French, of French Park, he married 1818 Mary (d. 7 September 1843), daughter of Christopher McDermott.
Created Baron de Freyne in the Peerage of Ireland, 16 May 1839. As he had no sons, was again created Baron de Freyne, 5 April 1851, with a special remainder to allow his brothers to succeed. Lord Lieutenant for Roscommon from 1855 until his death.
Died 1856, when the barony of 1839 became extinct and that of 1851 passed to his brother John French.
