Once a model for the entire Asian continent and feared and envied by its Southeast Asian neighbors, particularly during the 1950s and 60s, the Armed Forces of the Philippines</i> has since been surpassed by all other armed forces in the region and now is one of the weakest, most underfunded, most antiquated, and most politicized.
