Anna Miller's

Anna Miller's is a chain of restaurants in Hawaii and Japan. The first branch opened in 1973 in Hawaii; most of their expansion since has been in Japan. Their fare is roughly analogous to the American Marie Callender's or Denny's chain; the chain is known for their breakfast selection and even more known for their desserts such as pie and cheesecake.

The chain is also famous in Japan for their waitress uniforms, which are "as recognizable to Japanese as the Playboy Bunny is to Americans". There is a segment of Japanese male otaku who are particularly enthusiastic about the Anna Miller's waitresses as they find the uniforms kawaii. They often use the abbreviation "anmira" affectionately. Because of the enthusiasm of this particular young male demographic it has been theorized that many patronize the restaurant for the waitresses, rather than the food.

The girls themselves are usually in the range of 18 to 25 years old. This has lead some to draw comparisons between Anna Miller's and Hooters. The recognizable icon of the Anna Miller's waitress is of such popularity among those in Japanese fandom that they have become a popular subject of cosplay.

Some characters from the video game Variable Fighter Geo wear waitress uniforms from Anna Miller's during battle.
