Ament

In botany, an ament is also an alternative term for a catkin.

In Egyptian mythology, Ament was an underworld goddess who lived in a tree at the edge of a desert, where she welcomed newly-deceased souls into the underworld.

The name was also used to refer to the underworld itself.
