All-American Canal

The All-American canal is a canal that feeds the entire Imperial Valley in California. It feeds 9 cities and over 500,000 acres (2,000 km²) of agriculture. this canal was finished in 1942, and is the only method in which the Imperial Valley gets water. 7 power plants rely on the canal's flow to generate electricity. It is 82 miles (132 km) long. This canal is fed by Colorado River water which is diverted at the Imperial Diversion Dam. It ends at a small drop in the western Imperial Valley where it pours out into two other canals, one for direct irrigation and the other to act as a delivery system for other small canals.
