Alemannic language

Alemannic (Alemannisch) belongs to the Upper German branch of the Germanic language family.

Alemannic comprises the following variants:

Note that the Alemannic dialects of Switzerland are often called Swiss German or Schwyzerdütsch.

  • SIL: GSW (Swiss variety)
  • ISO 639–2: gem (for "Germanic (Other)")
