Aleksei Mihailovich Isaev
Aleksei Mihailovich Isaev (October 23, 1908–June 10, 1971) was a Russian rocket engineer.
He was a member of the Gas Design Laboratory design bureau founded by Valentin Glushko. In 1944 he formed his own design bureau to engineer liquid-propellant engines. The first designs were used on Mikoyan and Tupolev aircraft enfines. Beginning in 1959 he began working on rocket engines used on interplanetary spacecraft, as well as manned spacecraft.
Isaev was a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
The Isaev crater on the far side of the Moon is named after him.
