Aleksandar Popovic

Aleksandar Popovic (born in 1971 in Belgrade) is as of 2004 the Serbian Minister of Science and Environmental Protection. He was educated in Moscow, and graduated in Belgrade from the Chemistry University. In 1996 he received his MA from Florida State University, and in 2002 a PhD from the Chemistry University in Belgrade, where he currently works as an assistant professor. He is a vice-president of the Democratic Party of Serbia. He was an athlete, a champion and record-holder in various important sport disciplines.
