Alda Neves da Graça do Espírito Santo

Alda Neves da Graça do Espírito Santo (born 1926, São Tomé e Príncipe), known as Alda do Espírito Santo, is a poet working in the Portuguese language.

Since São Tomé e Príncipe achieved independence from Portugal, she has held several high offices in the government: minister of Education and Culture, minister of Information and Culture, president of the National Assembly, general secretary of the National Union of Writers and Artists of São Tomé e Príncipe. She is also the author of the lyrics to the national anthem, Independência Total.
