Aiko (singer)

aiko (born on November 22, 1975) is a Japanese pop singer-song writer who is popular among a wide range of fans in Japan. She is short with a height (152cm/4’99”), and is known for her cheerful character. She was born in Osaka. Her blood type is AB. Her favorite things include taking a bath, sleeping, and playing with dogs. She majored in popular vocal at Osaka College of Music and received AA in 1996. Her screen name "aiko" is spelled in Romaji with all small letters.

aiko's songs such as Hanabi, Sakura no Toki, and Hatsukoi are very popular among young girls. She has a voice of her own with characteristic keys and impressive melodies which makes it difficult for other people to sing. All of her songs and words are written by herself. She often writes songs about love, and she fascinates many young girls.

aiko made her first debut in 1998 across Japan, with a release of "Ashita". For the next few years, her songs were well used as commercial songs which attracted many listeners. After she released "Hanabi", many people began to point her. Since her debut aiko has become one of the major artists leading Japanese pop music.
