Against the Grain is Bad Religion's seventh album, released on November 23, 1990.
This is the last album recorded with drummer Pete Finestone who left in 1991 to concentrate with The Fishermen and replaced by the next drummer Bobby Schayer shortly before their 8th release, Generator.

Notes/Trivia
- All songs are written by Greg Graffin and Mr. Brett except "Positive Aspect Of Negative Thinking" and "Unacceptable" by Jay Bentley.
- Although the album was released in November 1990, the re-released version in 2004 listed 1991 as the original release date, causing some confusion.
- It is considered by their core fans to be their best album.
