Aelfsige

Aelfsige I (?-959) became Archbishop of Canterbury in 958. He succeeded Saint Aelfheah, also called Alphege the Bald, as Bishop of Winchester in 951. He died from a cold during a trip in the Alps when he was on his way to receive the pallium in Rome, Italy.
