Adam Hepburn, 2nd Earl of Bothwell

Adam Hepburn, 2nd Earl of Bothwell, inherited the title Earl of Bothwell from his father Patrick Hepburn, 1st Earl of Bothwell in 1508. He married Agnes Stewart, the illegitmate daughter of James Stewart, Earl of Buchan (she subsequently had papers of legitimacy signed by Mary of Guise in 1552) and they had one child, Patrick.

Hepburn was killed at the Battle of Flodden in 1513, and his son Patrick became the 3rd Earl of Bothwell.
