Abu al-Qasim Muhammad ibn Abbad

Abu al-Qasim Muhammad ibn Abbad, or Abbad I, was born in the 10th century and died in 1042. He was a Spanish Muslim administrator who, famously, declared Seville independent of the Spanish province Córdoba in 1023. He was the first independent Muslim ruler of Seville (his reign dating 1023–1042). He was the founder and eponym of the Abbadid dynasty.
