Aaron Albert Mossell

Aaron Albert Mossell II (1863-1951) was the first African American to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Birth

Aaron Albert Mossell II was born in Maryland, USA. His father was Aaron Albert Mossell I (1824-?) of Hamilton, Canada; and his mother was Eliza Bowers. He had a sibling: Nathan Mossell. In 1870 the family was living in Lockport, Niagara County, New York.

Marriage

Aaron Albert Mossell II went to Lincoln University and married Mary L. Tanner (1866-?) and they had the following children: Aaron Albert Mossell III (1893-?); Sadie Tanner Mossell (1898–1989) who married Raymond Pace Alexander (1897–1974); and Elizabeth Mossell (1904-?).
