When the Axis realized that their military might was insufficient to carry out a full-scale Earth invasion, they drafted a couple of alternate plans to force the Earth Federation to give in to their demands. In addition to the colony drop strategy ultimately executed in Gundam ZZ, the Axis considered carrying out nuclear attacks, for which this nuclear-capable mobile suit was designed. Based on the data acquired from Gundam "Physalis"The Gigantic has very thick armor with extensive heat – and radiation shielding to protect it from nuclear blasts and feature set of powerful thrusters on skirt armor which make it a MS with high manuverability. It armed with large atomic bazooka and beam saber for close combat. However, Axis's attemp to seize the necessary warheads from the Federation's Luna II depot fail, and the prototype Gigantic was consequently mothballed.
