7-Up Gold
Test marketed during the 1980s, 7-Up Gold was a spice flavored version of the popular 7-Up soft drink brand. Its taste was similar to ginger beer or a golden ginger ale such as Vernor's, although it was never advertised or marketed as a ginger beverage.
Although heavily promoted in certain markets with aggressive television advertising (notably scored with the Rock and roll anthem "Wild Thing" by the Troggs), the product was not deemed a success and never gained wide acceptance.
