480 Super Redhawk
The .480 Super Redhawk is a double action 6 shot revolver manufactured by Sturm, Ruger, marketed primarily for the pistol hunting market. The stainless steel Super Redhawk is available in either 7.5 or 9.5 inch (191 or 241 mm) barrel lengths.
Hornady is producing the ammunition with a 325 grain (21 g) XTP/ Mag jacketed hollow point The muzzle velocity listed by Hornady is 1350 feet per second (411 m/s) with the 325 grain (21 g) XTP/Mag bullet in a 7.5 in (191 mm) barrel model.
The .480 Super Redhawk was the largest most powerful handgun in production until Smith and Wesson introduced its 500 S&W, .50 caliber magnum revolver in 2003.
